Hobonichi cover for A5 The Hobonichi Techo, created in collaboration with the V&A (Victoria and Albert Museum, London), celebrates the much-loved Arts and Crafts patterns of William Morris and his creative companions. Drawing from the museum’s unparalleled collections, each techo combines iconic designs with the Hobonichi Techo’s signature style.
The front cover features Blackthorn wallpaper by John Henry Dearle, a close friend and collaborator of William Morris. This design celebrates spring with entwined hawthorn and blackthorn blossoms. The back features his 1912 Leicester wallpaper design, rich with stylised foliage and botanical details. Inside, a zesty yellow interior and a woven label pen holder bears Morris’ famous words: “Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.”
This pen holder is designed to hold a pen by its barrel. Even when you aren’t carrying a pen, the design serves as a beautiful accent to the techo cover.

The Hobonichi Techo is much more than a planner: it's an internationally famous lifestyle icon. This cult planner features a minimal and functional design and is full of little details that make it absolutely unique, such as quotes and informational pages about Japanese history, annual events, and folk tales.
The Hobonichi Techo is made by Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shimbun (ほぼ日刊イトイ新聞), a website and lifestyle brand curated by Japanese copywriter Shigesato Itoi. Hobonichi comes from the word meaning “almost everyday” and techo meaning “planner.”
